The grant money will be distributed to 258 non-profit organizations.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) recently announced that they completed the distribution of $431 million in grants to 258 non-profit organizations. These organizations exist to specifically address the needs of homeless veterans and those at risk of homelessness, providing them and their families with the resources they need to live in dignity. This year alone, the VA has helped to place 19,000 homeless veterans into permanent housing.
“Nobody should be homeless in the country they fought to defend — nobody,” said VA Secretary Denis McDonough. “These grant funds will help our partner organizations across the country provide at-risk Veterans with the resources they need to stay in their homes, where they belong, or find a new home.”
